Where can I get free images from?

We have our own free stock image library (please see the following article which talks you through how to access this) but should you need additional images then here are our top five places to go.

#1:librestock.com

Our favourite free high-res image site with access to 34,000+ images, and multiple high-res images. It allows you to search the best 30 free stock photo sites in one place - you'd just need to check the individual sites for licence details.

#2: www.pexels.com

You can access multiple images directly from the website and can view loads of images on the scrolling homepage - it's a really easy site to navigate if you subscribe to the bi-monthly newsletter you get access to a further 35-40 exclusive free photos. The images are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license; pictures are OK for full commercial use.

#3: unsplash.com

Ten new photos are added every ten days to this site – and we love the photos! It’s nice being able to choose how to scroll through the images. Photos are also licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license.

#4: www.coverr.co

This is a great site – and is actually a bit of a gem when it comes to visual content. Forget static images, this is where you can get a free video to liven up your website! You just download your chosen video, upload it to your site and then upload the snippets they provide. All videos are covered under the CC0 licence.

#5: deathtothestockphoto.com

You can sign-up to receive free high-quality images each month (signing-up will also give you access to a Bonus Pack of x10 images). If you’re an image super-user you can sign-up to a premium membership at $15 per month. All photos are subject to the Photograph End User Licence – you can display and reproduce them but don’t give them out to others to use.
