What is a widget?
Whilst 'links' take your site visitors to an external destination (e.g. a social media profile or a third party website), widgets are stand-alone applications embedded directly into your web page, effectively bringing those external destinations onto your site.
Widgets may also be known as gadgets, snippets, modules or portlets. They are designed to give extra power and control to your users.
Our Platform enables the following:
- Embedding an external shop
- Embedding an external blog feed
- Embedding a newsletter/mailing tool (e.g. MailChimp or AWeber)
- Adding a Twitter feed (please see article within 'Social Media' section, for more information)
- Adding an online booking system/service (e.g. vCita)
- Adding Google Analytics key
- Adding Google Webmaster Tools
- Adding a LiveChat function (e.g. Olark)
How do I add a widget to my webpage?
Adding a widget is simple. You just need to sign in to your provider to access the embed code to copy across to your workshop. It's usually clearly signposted for their users.
Please refer to the relevant articles, within this section of our Help Centre, for instructions for how to add some of these widgets to your website.
And if you still have any questions then do get in touch with us via our LiveChat.
